During RTT10 on the Isle of Man it became apparent that apart from being able to ride a TDM very quickly indeed, organise great RTTs and have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the TT races, Tour Manager Pete Kelly has another skill. The ability to strike up long and intimate conversations with total strangers. These conversations frequently delayed progress, for instance when Pete 'popped' to the cash machine in Castletown and returned 30 minutes later having had a 'chat' with the local newsagent about the Southern 100 races and where to get a programme. Sometimes we had to drag him backwards out of conversations by the collar in order to get going on the bikes. These conversations often seemed to result in Pete being invited to the stranger's home or their daughter's wedding and were a great source of amusement to all concerned on the RTT. So this thread is dedicated to memories of these conversations and photos of the great man in conversation.

He even talks to honda riders...

Germans...

...who introduced him to more Germans...

...tour bus loads of pensioners...

...and even statues!

I kept hoping he'd stop for a chat with someone half way over the mountain and give the rest of us a chance to catch up, damn he's fast!

Ha ha - no probs Chris - the pix were a hoot. Clare has been saying I talk too much for years - now she has the proof

Actually the cake shot was in a Church Hall near Jurby at the TT this year - a real sugary feast for the TT clan

aha................

As it happens, prior to my lengthy discussion with that great charismatic motorcycle star, here is a shot of Dave asking an incredulous Fogarty what on earth he is doing sitting on the wall with his back to the exciting Truck Racing Support Event before the start of the Southern 100.

Michaela looks on prior to suggesting that her husband should get Dave's autograph.

Carl's mate tries to look cool in his new specsavers glasses by gazing off into the middle distance, while his other mate picks his nose while trying unsuccessfully to chat up the young woman in the pink mac.

What a truly world class audience the S100 attracts.

Garlic bread?

I know - Incredible isn't it, but we actually ate this stuff!

Somehow they seem to have found a way to sort of add the garlicky taste (whatever that is ) to bread, and they give you it with your dinner - its brilliant ,man!

I'm telling you, it's the bloody futu.................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
