Dunno who's done this, however....
Whichever designer stuffed the fuse box, starter solenoid etc under the seat, and then left it all exposed to the water'n'shite flung up by rear wheel etc needs to be taken outside and have their balls (or other parts if not male) dipped in liquid nitrogen punishment.gif
Having to replace solenoids as a service item at 26k seems tad stoopid methinks

So go get an old inner tube from your local tyre place and chop it up

Fit over end of rear mudguard and bolt down using the 2 mudguard bolts (one under fuse box, other under scottoiler in this case) and then cable tie it in place, having punched some appropriate holes (I got flash & used a hole punch). Cable ties arrowed in pic + another one on side around rear resevoir to mc hose.

That should do the trick

(any Moderators wanna bounce this and the clutch cable cover post into knowledge base? tried to post there originally but couldn't)
Done - Thomas.
Done: Homo sap navigation/ twisty thing on bars to make it go vroom/ grabby thing to make it stop (in front of twisty thing)/ 'leccy things front and rear to make it glow at night/ Sucky + drippy oiler thing to keep chains moist (!!) / Laser Pro Stock Race pipes / bleeding ear drums (see previous mod)
To do: Educate homo sap nav system to operate twisty + grabby things/ get ear plugs

All Trashed Now... Pants... its a Cat B Mwahahaha it lives again!!

Nice work, jht! good.gif Must admit I was stunned to see the "hole" in the design - I guess there was a later rethink, and 900's are better protected.

Yeah, that the idea!

Cable tied around Resevoir to Rear MC pipe, that little bracket where starter motor cables run through, and around frame cross member just behind shock mount. The aim was to specifically protect the area around starter solenoid, fuse box etc.

After week riding in rain/snow/ general dampness I'll have a butchers under seat at weekend and see what water ingress have had if any & report back

I've also coated the area in ACF50 before fitting rubber, stuff seems to have a good reputation for stopping/preventing corrosion (anyone else used it???)

I think maybe JBX's french is passable. Or maybe you could get the page translated using Babel Fish or similar.
