I don’t know if you still can, but you could get euro cover from the ADAC group. Although primarily German, they’d provide full euro cover. However, age and value of bike will likely be an issue as pretty much without exception, the limit on repatriation will be the value of the bike if the breakdown requires it.
No idea with the travel insurance as I haven’t been over on the bike for several years. The only suggestion I can make is to try Adrian Flux. A lot of our RoSPA lot are a: old and b: head off to Europe on a regular basis and often mention Adrian Flux.

Can anyone recommend a company (or companies) for European cover for breakdowns for my ageing though well preserved bike (2013) and travel insurance including riding said bike for my ageing and not so well preserved body. Seems that they are wanting stupid money or dont want to know.
Carole Nash let me down badly - I called from Spain about a stretched chain sawing through my TL1000R swingarm and they deemed that was negligence and not an accident. They would not assist at all. I sorted it myself with a new chain and a few days layover.

They independently lied to both me'sen and dandy about our travel insurance and where it covered...leaving us in the no mans land atwix countries.
They then "lost" the evidence of the recorded calls hohohooooo. But unfortunately for them i had evidence of what was said.
Soo...yeah. not carole.
Also beware the small print such as "recovery to value of x% of bike value".

Very dependant on market value of the bike Chris......Auntie Carol bought my bike home from Tignes near Val de sere in France in 2016.. the cost to them was £1600 pounds, if I were in Spain I doubt the Insurance would of covered the difference to the added cost.. The driver who returned my bike was independant and told me the cost upon enquiry.

So what happens if the insurance company decides it's not economical to bring a bike back to the UK? Do they pay anything?
For example, If my bike is worth £1500 and recovery costs come to £1499, they could bring it back, but if recovery was £1501 they would wash their hands of it and tell me that I'm on my own?

I'm sure somebody in the Classic bike/motor sector would have up to date info, plenty of them travelling in foreign climes... or else van the bikes over to your starting point !?

That's a good point. I never had any issues when I had classic insurance on the Maserati. That also included agreed value, so maybe that also made a difference as there's certainly a difference in the value between that and my 900 for example.

https://www.direct-travel.co.uk these cover motorcycle travel insurance. I haven't read the full terms and conditions, but they do offer specialist travel insurance and motorcycling in the EU with appropriate licence is covered as an add-on in the additional cover box.

As Trev mentioned Chris it could be an idea to find out if the ADAC will cover you, lots of motorhomers have used or are still maybe using the service, repatriation will only get you as far as the market value of your bike whatever that is deemed to be, cant really see you having a mechanical issue though, take a spare alternator..

However setting it up with a UK address was not easy, even when we spoke to a guy on their stand at a German car show.
Caravan & motorhome sites had the most information about using them as it was a popular option for them.
