Hi all!  :)

Today I noticed my ABS and engine warning lights came on for about 2 seconds, four minutes into my ride. The ABS light came on twice, the engine light only once. I did some emergency braking to check my brakes and there were no skidding whatsoever. Do any of you know what could cause this? What can I do to troubleshoot? I just bought the bike three weeks ago so I haven't experienced this or anything similar before.

I have noticed that my left/right indicators blink at a normal pace before they start blinking twice as fast, and then blinking normal/fast at random. When using the emergency lights they all blink at a normal pace.

I know from reading on this forum that there is a lot of knowledge around, so I cross my fingers for some good replies!  ;)

Edit: The bike is a 2006 Yamaha TDM 900A.

Not much help but indicators blinking at double speed normally indicates that one of the bulbs has blown.

If thats not the case then it my indicate a dodgy wire somewhere in/near the dash???

1 - check ABS sensor mounting points at front & rear wheels.

2 - check the stop light bulb is a standard 21w bulb. The ECU-ABS monitors the bulb and send a warning signal in case there is a fail (dead bulb or a LED light).

3 - it looks like indicators have LED bulbs. check the bulbs are the right one : 10w each, which match the oem indicator relay. Any other bulb (21W or led) will cause issue with the relay.

JBX everything beautifully written.

4. check the cables of the sensors on the wheels. You can be quickly damaged in careless changing of tyres.
5. If no defect found, check the plugs of the sensor cable to the cable harness.
