Hello friends,

i recently came from 1300km trip (from Slovakia to Slovenia) and been sadly depressed from amount of wind buffeting and turbulences i get during ride. Up to 120kmh its quite "acceptable", but anything above its nightmare. During 120kmh+ speed on highway i felt like been banging head against wall, strong vibrations, blurred vision due this. And noise.... noise absolutely at top of the ranks. Cannot hear anything, even with motorcycle earplugs have a huge amount of noise. My height is 185cm.

When i bought the bike, there was touring wind screen.... it was disaster - punches to the head from 60kmh to all above. So i bought original one, it was much improved, but everything i described above is still there. I tried 17cm deflector added on touring and original windscreen - same, but different result, but always same. With original windscreen have wind coming on my shoulders and jaw, if i straight my back and neck, i got release of some turbulences and if i stand on bike, there is basically everything solved.

How can i reach peace with my bike ? Do you have any tips ? I really really enjoyed all trips together, but after this one my heart is broken and my body is tired. It reached the point i will propably sell the bike due this, because i cannot hear even intercom and speak with my friends, nor enjoy the ride.

Thanks for any tips

Smaller screen ?

I used to ride a naked and never had buffeting. I've fitted a short screen to my 900 and have no buffeting, but get it with the taller screen options

900 with better bits. Owes me nothing, Makes me smile

I had a touring screen on my 900, did not enjoy that so I bought a standard one, it was a lot better. I have since made an even shorter one out of a thin sheet of plastic and that is even better still. 120/130kph is alright with earplugs, although on a windy day it can be a bit more taxing. I have done 20k kilometres in this configuration.

Try fitting spacers between the screen & the fairing, this will help a bit
