Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

thought ya were selling it ?? as far as i know the MKI and MKIIa (TDM 850 from 1999-2001) sprockets are the same sizes but i aint 100% shua.

engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

they are the same, mk2 96-99 has a diff front sprocket but i think the rest is the same

My TDM :
Black 1991 850 MK1, 160k+ miles(ish, best guess really, gave up trying to keep count after 3rd set of clocks and 3rd engine), PilotRoad2 tyres, custom stubby exhaust system, bluespot calipers & goodridge braided hoses with dunlopads, maxton forks, Ohlins shock, kedo handguards, stainless TDM grill, Scottoiler with lubetube & dual nozzle thingy, Givi Wingrack2 with E45 & 2xE36s, renntec crash bars, Autocom with blueteeth & PMR radio, TomTom Rider2, Optimate IIIsp, Bagster tank cover, anti-dazzle coating

all you want to know about sprockets, codes etc on here

you can search by bike
or you can search by sprocket code to see what other bikes it is fitted to
you can also see what other sizes are available and what bikes they were fitted to

No width info on the mkI front sprocket. But a diff part number to the mkII!

TDM 900 was hoping maybe a 44 rear but----------

Front sprocket available in: 16 teeth

Rear sprocket available in: 39, 42, 43, 47, 48, 49 teeth

As its flat (ie no boss around the the splined hole) it'll be 7.2 as its a 525 chain
It tells you this on the MkII front sprocket for the thickness of the outer section

I've changed my rear sprocket for a 39 tooth. Gives me a liitle lower revs at 70. But the main reason was to get the speedo a little more accurate. I could sit at 70 and tomtom would say my speed was 65mph. Almost spot on now.

Righto!! Spell it out like I'm a 6 year old, I'm after a RK chain (XSO). If my model (2007) requires a 118 link chain, do I buy the 120 link chain and get 2 links taken out?? blink.gif or, if they say 114 and 120, is the sizes they make between these sizes??? Tttttthhhhhaaaaaannnnkkkkssssss

Hi Greg,

For Me personally i would buy a chain with a joining link and just take the 2 links out if that is what is required, Just make sure the open ends of the side clip face backwards from the direction of rotation of the chain, This prevents them being flicked off by an object hitting them. This is what i did when i replaced the chain on my DR650 prior to my Cape York trip last August.

Guys what do you think any bad if I replace 'thick' (at center mount point) 10.8mm

sprocket from Mk2 '98 to flat one 7.2mm ? Just I've already purchased spare Renthal 15T
but never thought it can be different before checked mine, as Renthal specified to fit 96-06 years.
As result there are will be (10.8-7.2)/2 = 1.8mm shift to center, seems not a big deal?

I do not know if this affordable misalignment value, or maybe it will be more reliable
to put 1.8mm washer? When properly tightened I guess nothing happens and this
variant with washer looks better to me. Thanks
