Just thought i would share my experience so far with my Christmas Pressie.

Got a new super flash textile jacket, website here. I appreciate it's pretty useless reviewing a jacket sold in NZ for those up over but it has some interesting features which may assist with buying choices..

It does not come with destructions  but really needs them, I'm still finding more vents and pockets every time I use it. It's the usual triple layer jobbie with excellent armour which can be strapped tightly into place. I suspect it will stay in the right places if i take a tumble, a first in my experience of textile gear. No more floppy armour.

The thermal liner is overkill for here, Nanuck of the North must have had a hand in the design. The removable waterproof liner is waterproof. I've ridden in heavy rain and used the hose test, no leaky seams.

All in, the jacket weighs 4kg. Pretty substantial!

With the two inner liners removed and all the vents open it's actually breezy and comfortable at town speeds in 30c temps, another first. The liners roll up pretty small, or scrunch up if you're less disciplined.

It is a bit of a faff to put on and off with 3 front fastenings and zips, straps and velcro on the cuffs. If it spontaneously combusts I'm toast.

The outer fastening is interesting, it has big magnetic buttons. As soon as they get close it snaps shut by itself. After two hours of playing with it my girlfriend got quite annoyed with me.

The fancy fasteners do have their drawbacks... Be careful what you get close too.

Good job we know the context of that statement!!

I trust that is not her in the picture!

Thanks for the amusement. Don't forget to wash the utensils before they go back in the kitchen.
