If this is still going ahead we need to Know when and if its being tagged to the German 09 G2G. Ive got a week booked off for the Berlin trip but need to know if its going to be longer so I can book extra leave. The longer its left the harder it will be for peeps to get the leave they want.

This has gone round in a sort of spiral* - Guinness made the point earlier that the traditional time for our RTT is out of line with the German dates, and it seems that discussions about merging the two have lost sight of that. So it's still unresolved about going to one or other meet or both separately or both continuously (shifting our RTT [Dordogne?] dates to fit)..

*(It's a spiral cos the ends ain't joined up while things have moved forward. In fact it may even be a double helix - will discuss this with my biochemical colleague, Doc smile.gif )

Right then. I'm up for organising the Dordogne if that's the call. Guinness set the RTT dates in stone a few months ago as July 4th to 11th. The Motocamp runs their rentals of caravans or cabins Saturday to Saturday and I suppose this doesn't matter for the camping. For anyone who missed the earlier threads (about a week after RTT08 I think!) this place is run by a Dutch couple of bikers for bikers in an amazing part of France. I talked to them and they offered us discounts for a group booking and would have ridesout planned for us as well as a list of other places worth a visit. They have a restaurant on site and a bar that stays open as long as anybody is standing. They organise music nights with local rock bands. There is the added pleasure of the drive down and back from the channel enjoying a Routier lunch or two! I've not been there but it sounds pretty good to me so Mrs TeDeum and I decided we would go whatever the RTT plans were.

Due to the current global financial situation I had not wanted to do any further work on the organising until the New Year when, perhaps, there would be some better idea of how anybody who wants to go might be fixed as everything seems quite uncertain in the real world at the moment. But as there does seem to be a lot of interest in getting something sorted then do people want to commit now? The sooner we have numbers the happier the guy who runs the Motocamp will be to get the bookings and the better the chance of a decent discount. Looking at the pics on the site it looks like a WAGS friendly place so lets have some WAGS!

So Berlin 10-14 June for the German TDM forum Megatreff, and RTT 4-11 July in the Dordogne.

That should leave me enough leave to extend the Berlin trip in a 2 week jolly down through the alps if anyone else is interested. 10 countries in 2 weeks should be doable.
