QUOTE(poldark @ Sun 25th Jan 2009, 05:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'd like to share a cabin for the week with a suitable non-smoking/farting person who is guarenteed not to sleepwalk - any takers?

I've contacted Renske and booked a cabin for two, so if anyone's after sharing please let me know.

What I'd like to ask is who knows a cheap way to send her the 105 Euro deposit, I don't want to pay £25 bank charge and worldmoneymove.com sadly don't cover France!

Any chance we could co-ordinate and make one transfer to cover deposits for several cabins, or has everyone else already made payment.

Cheers

Gone but not forgotten!

In Ireland you can go to the bank and get a Euro draft drawn on a bank in the country you want to send the money to. As long as it is made out to the person you want the money to go to it is as good as cash but nobody else can cash it. You can then post the draft by registered mail. Cost here is €2.50 to the bank plus the value of the draft. Ask your bank if they offer this service.

Remembered I had an account with a Foriegn Exchange company, which I'd used for our little Italian retirement house purchase nearly two years back.

Still cost me £10 as it's such a small amount, but at least I sorted it on Fri after the wholesale rate bounced to 1.11 (closed over 1.13). Hopefully they'll get the money this week and I'll hear back with cabin booking confirmation.

So at least now when I look out the window at the snow flurries I can look forward to some summer riding in the Dordogne!! yahoo.gif

Just had the confirmation back from Renske that they've got the deposit, so all booked.

I'm just praying the Euro rate continues it's slight upward trend, nudging 1.15 today. if we're really lucky it may have managed to get back to 1.25/1.30 by the summer - me optimistic never! rolleyes.gif

That part answers a question I was going to post this evening about whether anybody had got their confirmations for accomodation from motocamp. I got mine today two weeks after I sent the money.

Could be a good 500 mile rideout back to Cherbourg, it looks like there's quite a few for Cherbourg -> Portsmouth on Sun 12th, I'm on the 20.30 Seacat.

Also anyone doing Cherbourg -> Poole on 12th?
