No really, orange. :0)

Both slug and pug on 180,000.

I hunted and hunted for a hdi motor all those years ago and was really disappointed to end up with a 69hp DW8.... BUT having now driven the HDI, the slug is completely the right enjun for work, farm tracks, Devon lanes. It's loike a canal barge.

Found another pug glitch. In even a very light rain, without the car even being wet, all the dash dials spin to their max setting temporarily like a mini seizure!! The car continues to drive normally. This repeats maybe every 10 mins and only lasts for a few seconds. In the dry, nothing. Intermittent electrical fault my favourite!! Guessing an earth somewhere...

Cam belt and bits done, had been done before but def ready for newun..car was roadworthy for a day.

The indicators stopped going up and down the very next day...haaaaaa not only do I have a unit I previously rebuilt ready to go...I even know where it is. A quick test drive and get home...go to wind up the window and its in the bottom of the door. Lolzio.

Door to bits...yup someones been in there a bodging good. Slashed all door waterproofing that just unsticks. This also explains why one window went up switch up and the other up switch down.....they have ruined the cables by attaching wrong way round and not attached regulator to window properly.

New one £300 from pug. All the ones on eBay are not correct for this year/door even though they claim to be..

So now waiting on a repair kit and cables of hopefully correct length (else oil make some).

Nearly there haaaaa.

I had an old pug once, I did the decent thing as I only bought it for the engine with a view to marinising for a boat.....

Engine looked much better when done.

Even better sat beside another.

It's still giving goood.

My regulator rebuild kit arrived. Nice kit. Regulator rebuilt with new cayboos and sprocket. Regulator goes in correct direction. Tested and tested again.

I fitted it back on door, a right pain. Then Attached window..a right pane in the glass.

Up/down fine....up down...tangle of wires.

Then all off again, start from scratch and same result.

Garfgghhghjjvhh. It's not possible to see what is going wrong as it only goes wrong when in the door with glass attached!! Unloaded in the door it's fine. With me putting pressure on the mechanism it's fine. With glass attached, not fine. The glass is sliding freely so I'm stumped.

Anyone got experience of deez tings?

Not the same as that Juan SR. I am sure it's rebuilt correctly. But there must be summat I'm missing that's worn or not functioning right under load. If I could see the problem I could maybe work it ooot but it's all hidden in tut' door by that point.

Maybe I have to set up a test rig outside of the door...I just don't wanna break the glass with all this pratting aboot.

Pfffff (I know why they do it now)

SORTED!! No chance of finding new bits so I sat down with the pile of scrap.

Finally noticed that replaced cables although inner and outers were same length as originals, the fitting to the motor was not and the new cables sit further inbound making cables too slack..managed to remove the slack by using one old cayboo and one new!!! Bingo! Window worky!
