If it's decided to book a couple/few of the cabins at the Snowy River Holiday Park, I'll lay down a deposit and we can sort the remainder at the venue. Let me know what you think.
And whose was the black 900 under the runway in Sydney last Friday?

Azza, are you near Bacchus Marsh ? I've checked 2 possible routes to Dalgetti & thought maybe we could meet at Wallan ? Haven't ridden much in VIC so some company on the way there would be ace.

Well, my "intention" (get it, sorry early in the morning) is to camp in my tent at the caravan park, I put the links at the top of the thread for you blokes to deal with accommodation ( mainly because I'm a lazy bastard ) , keep in mind that the "Cabins" are onsite vans, if any one wants to stay at the Pub you had better get a booking in, as there is a limited number of rooms, and the place is quite popular on weekends

Turn off the freeway at Malmsbury and take the old Calder highway, it's a more interesting ride, for much the same time.

It might pay to book no matter where you want to sleep.

if there is too much of a problem with accommodation we can move down the road to Cooma or Bombala

Oh shit indeed, the shows are the biggest thing for small towns, do we need to reconsider location before too many bookings are made?
cheers Graeme

Happy to move towns - the date would be a problem for me if we go later.....
Dalgety may be too awkward anyway even with accommodation booked - so many people and all driving around our lovely roads......

Hi Trotski, happy new year to you and all. Doesnt seem like anyone has booked at Dalgety. You know the area. Have been looking at the map, whats at Jincumbilly? or Ando, or Cathcart. Holts Flat, Nimmitabel. No lack of options eh? but those names took my fancy----Dalgety is perfect but not with heaps of people as Frodg says.
cheers Graeme

there is a number of eating establishments in Berridale, though breakfast may be a problem, Berridale puts us still in easy range of both the propossed rides.
The other places you mention Graeme, are little more than localities and don't have much in the way of Facilities, (great names though)
Living in the area, I haven't really got much of an Idea of the accommodation, Cooma is good to, but I think the varied accommodation will tend to spread us out to much. the only other place suitable is Jindabyne, and it's a real tourist trap anytime of the year.
on balance I would recommend the place above (in the link) at Berridale as somewhere that should suit everyone(I hope).
The Dalgety show is more for locals and while it draws a crowd it's mostly day trippers, but i agree that the Pub would be very crowded the whole weekend. and as that is the only eatery in Dalgety it would be a bit of a hassle.
So lets have some thoughts please

Do we go with a group booking or individual?

Going with the current conversation I just did an on-line check for rooms at the pub - FULLY BOOKED.
A change of location would be a good thing.
I have never been into the region so have no knowledge about the towns and where to stay.
Quite happy with hotel or caravan park.
