Someone mentioned the Free travel insurance given with credit card. Read terms and conditions very carefully. More get outs and back doors than you could imagine. Absolute minimum of coverage.

Just looked at Tesco's policy and it says
That last one looks like you're not covered for anything relating to a motorbike

Sorry I'm a bit late, but I can recommend Medicover for anyone with a pre-existing medical condition that would result in cover being denied or premium being hyped by "normal" (ie greedy, neurotic etc.) insurance companies. They make no reference to motorcycling or whatever (though winter sports are singled out) and charge extremely reasonable rates, so do check them out.

Chris, Got me a bit worried, so I rang them. After 9 mins of waiting got through. I am indeed covered for riding the bike, but the bike is not covered.
That's what the bike insurance is for, she said.
Think I am happier now.

I have the annual AA travel insurance. In the small print it says that I am covered if I am riding a motorcycle of 150cc or less! Read the policy before you throw them your dosh.
2001 TDM. 1990 Serow. 2004 DRZ400. 3 bikes, four cylinders. Who needs more?
