A piece of good luck.....

At the last minute I decided to go up to me mams in Newcastle yesterday. 385 miles round trip.

When I got home I went to oil the chain and there was the awful scraping noise when I turned the wheel.

Brake pads down to the bear metal......... !!!!!!

BUT........I just checked them the other week when I did a service ?????

..... OR could I have mistaken what I thought was meat on the pads was actually the metal.... Sh!t..... wacko.gif

Anyway, just as well I went because, I would have just got to Castlegregory and found I had no back brake.. blink.gif

New pads on and chain cleaned ... so

That was lucky....... good.gif

Brain overload here - I know the hostel is attached to a pub, but have you said which one of the six?

Maurice Fitzgeralds. Not Ned Natterjacks, Bolands, Michael Fitzgeralds, Ferriters or the other one the name of which escapes me at the moment!

Confirmed.

For everyone who is in the hostel, you should book in at the shop in Maurice's which is through the front door and turn left. You will be expected to pay. If you turn right by mistake you are straight into the front bar and you could be in worse places!

Just checked and you can pay for the hostel with plastic. It looks like the rounds will be so big you will probably need plastic to pay for them too.

Current weather, crap. Just seen the forecast on TV which suggests Saturday wettish, Sunday showers and sunny intervals. Suggest prayer.
