I am thinking seriously of not coming. Everything I look at for road conditions talks about snow & ice. Not the conditions I want to put my new bike & old body In. If anyone is out of pocket for accomodation booking let me know. ........Mitch.

it looks to be clearing to the east on Friday with forecast light showers Saturday and sunny on Sunday, but it will be COLD, currently 6.4C at my place rain is persistent but light and probably some sleet and snow overnight, once the front passes it will clear up pretty quickly, the run down to the coast might be best left till Sunday to give the weather time to go out to sea.
there are a couple of alternate routes that are good rides in the high country that would avoid the road between Cabramurra and Khancoban, which if there is snow would be the most affected

Just watching the Weather Channel now (5pm) and they are saying heavy weather in the mountains for the next 12hrs .
I'll make up my mind on routes late Friday, you'll have to trust me that I'll be taking (with 30yrs experience of the area) the safest route, and I'll will turn around if I think it's too bad.

these are conditions Graeme and I are familiar with and I think that it should be ok but everyone needs to make their own mind up.
But i'll be there, baring landslides and floods

We're in Tallangatta for the night and had a damp run from Bendigo, but it was ok and want that cold for what was supposed to be the coldest October day for 40 years. We'll be in Berridale early to mid arvo.

That would be a real shame Mitch but it is your call. As Trotski says, its going to clear quickly, just a bit cold because of the southerly.
You might feel better about when you see a bit of blue sky in the morning :)
cheers Gaeme

looking out the window this morning, 3 Wallabys grazing at the front of the house, some low cloud, all the snow last night has melted and it looks soaked, I may have some trouble getting out to the Bitumen, wind is SSW at about 15km , but the rain has stopped :clapping:

Looking out the office window here in Sydney and it appears to be clearing - but not to the south - a large bright rainbow bodes well tho!! Apparently it has been snowing and settling up at Katoomba this morning.....Forecast is for it to clear so I expect a dry run but if not I get to feel how my new tyres do in the wet.....there's always a bright side! Will be leaving around 2, so hope to arrive around 7. See you there
