easier to do it here in a new topic than in the existing one or via PM

i know i said about doing the routes on the ferry but i got bored waiting for someone in India to pull their finger out....

Wed 1st - home to Portsmouth, 93miles/2hours, ferry sails @ 12:30
http://maps.google.c...e...mp;t=h&z=14

Thu 2nd - arrive in santander @1300ish, travel to pamplona 183miles/6hours http://maps.google.c...e...p;z=9&via=1

Fri 3rd - from pamplona to Lloret De Mar, 334miles/9hours
http://maps.google.c...e...amp;t=h&z=9

Sat 4th - chillout day

Sun 5th - Lloret De Mar to Andorra, 170miles/5hours
http://maps.google.c...e...amp;t=h&z=9

Mon 6th - Andorra to Motocamp in Dordogne, 235ish/7hours
http://maps.google.c...e...amp;t=h&z=8

Tues 7th to Fri 10th - RTT rideouts, whatever you fancy

Sat 11th & Sun 12th - motocamp to Chebourg - route and times to be confirmed, but need to be at Chebourg for ferry at 7pm for 20:30 sail

wot ye finks my feline friend?

anyone got any other route suggestions that dont add stupid mileage?

theres that blue belstaff summer jacket, defo not waterproof tho
also got wulfsport jacket but that dont have any armour and may be too small

Yes,

Sunday 5th .......try going up the C17 when you get to Gurb ........up to Ripoll - then the N152 & N260 back to your route to Andorra

The 152 is 40 miles of Hairpins through wooded hills .............& the N260 is mega-fast, brilliantly surfaced sweeping bends yahoo.gif

I'm extremely jealous BTW - but I shall be down that way for nearly 3 weeks in august & me trusty ol' MkII is already waiting down there waiting for me

Let your credit card company & bank know you're doing Spain/Andorra/France .......or they might stop 'em
Get your tank filled on Saturday night, as the rural stations are genarally closed on Sundays (Andorra will be fine & is still under a euro a litre)

It will generally be warm over there - so I find summer kit with a lightweight 2 piece waterproof works best - deffo take light summer gloves with you as well

And the bike kit in Andorra definately ISN'T cheap anymore ! ( & your EHIC isn't valid there, so get some medical insurance just in case )

I just bought a Heine Gerick Air 2 jacket, currently for sale at £50 on thier website. They don't seem to have it in the shops anymore having been replaced with the £120 Air 3. Fantastic in hot weather, mesh pannels in the front and zip open mesh from wrist to elbow. I had to wear a windproof fleece under it at the weekend, and I'll be carrying a 2 piece waterproof so I can use the jacket as a windproof layer if needed. Think it's an issue with all these kinds of jackets though is get one that's a tight fit. This one feels reasonably snug when stationary but inflates on the move and at motorway speeds pulls on the neck a bit.

1992 Mk1, 76k miles, Hagon springs, MTC exhaust, 4½ gears Gone now :(
2009 900 abs, 42k miles, Yamaha heated grips, double bubble screen, R&G crash bungs, scottoiler, Autocom, 1500 lumen LED spotlights.

Forgot to mention I found the crotch strap a little tight so I've extended it a couple of inches. Probably not an issue for everyone but I'm long in the body (6'2 but only 32" inside leg) and found it meant I couldn't sit completely upright. Not had a change to test the mod on the bike yet but it feels a lot more comfortable.

Did my packing tonight, Bloody hell. I have spare room in the E21's. ohmy.gif

Due to the tyre replacement the light weight jacket did not happen. Biketits only do jackets up to XL. As most will know, XL works out to medium. Ended up in Farnborough and what used to be City, then Ifinity now motorsomething, they had a 08 abs in there, for.................£6500!! rotflmmfao.gif rotflmmfao.gif

Still need travel insurance, not going for Breakdown cover as one of my wingmen is the resident engine swapper.....
