Ok, here is my offical introduction (have posted a couple times in supporting members thread)

My name is David and I live in a mining town in central South Australia - Australia. The only down side to where I live is the 3 hour ride to the nearest twisty road.
In March I got my self a TDM900. Before that I had a Kawasaki ZZR250, I couldn't bare crusing at 110km/h with the motor revving at 8000rpm (after changing sprockets to gear it taller).

In 2006 I rode a friends TDM850 and liked it. After looking at other sports tourers I couldn't find anything that appealed as much as the TDM (especially in the value for money department), I didn't even bother test riding the 900. I brought new as the second market here is tiny (only 2 or 3 at any time) and I plan to keep it for a while. I've fitted the factory centre stand and Ventura rack and have a Scottoiler and SWmotec crash bars (yet to fit). The jury is out on pipes to unleash the rumble (86dB is too quiet - the zzr250 was 89)

Here is a piccy, more in my album.

Happy Riding
Dave

I like the contrast between the two, but the black engine becomes the grey that it used to be when ridden in the rain.

Just joined the forum, had my tdm 850 for about 3 months, came across it in autotrader and thought i'd give it a go, never looked back, absolutely love it for commuting, twisting and generally messing about, i use it in all weathers except snow and ice and every time it gets dirty it scrubs up like new. I'm six foot and it fits me like a glove, no back ache or signs of stiffness and I took it down to the mother in laws in the New Year (500 miles, Tyneside to Cornwall)
wish I'd found this bike 4 bikes ago.
