We all aware that TDM's lights are not the best...
I was trying to find a way to improve them, and to use HID kit without disturbing the car in front of me or the one in the opposite direction...

so, I decided to fit HID Bixenon projectors...
now I have both of the light on and they work as an H4-3 buld...

night turns into day, and the rest of the drivers stopped being annoyed from my HID kit..








of course it demands very delicate job...and some electrical (basic) knowledge...

but the result is better than great...(for me at least)

PS: in all pictures above the only light is the angel eye around the projector

Would love to see pics of the 'beam cut' from the riders point of view

Also, how did you go about fitting them, any cutting, or direct fitting

I will try to take some better pictures from various points of view...

No cuts...

the most difficult thing is to open the light housing...
it needs heat (not overheating since melting might be possible) and very delicate handling to avoid damaging the housing..

the look is more than great (photos are far from the real look)

cost...the kit was at 85,00euros and add 2 new slim ballast at 40euros = 125,00euros

add the paintjob in the light housing and on the projectors (to fit my bike's color)...

plus the time spent... ohmy.gif

but I don't care at all....

now, I love it!!! wub.gif

Fantastic!! clapping.gif You should register this idea and sell it to Yamaha!!

Some months ago, I was into the "world" of the lights (TDM is poor). I just put two new bulbs (Philips XP Moto) and things became better. HID, new bulbs... but your work is an authentic master piece. Great Idea & innovative solution. good.gif

Thrak your the 'Greek God of TDM' !! that looks really good.

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

I loike tay and hang sangwiches !

Where did you get the R5W position light (led)? In Spain is difficult to find it.

The best one ever tried (and I have tried many panels) is THIS ONE

Leds last more than 6 months and very easy to fit

well, to be honest, it wasn't the easiest thing I've done..

you have to put the headlight in the oven for 15minutes at 80 C..
then with small screwdrivers you have to seperate it without damaging the housing

you have to clean the old glue

the projector are ready to fit, so they are not the problem...

the biggest problem is the wiring....toooooo many wires..

Where from where from?!?!

Also, what happens if you need to change a bulb?

Are the accessable from the rear of the lights like standard?

Bulb changing is much much easier than the OEM...

projectors use a D2s bulb that comes out very easily...

accessible exactly as the OEM...
